2011 Maroondah District Charity Challenge

All Lodges are invited to attend a Charity Challenge Banquet Dinner to be held at the Ringwood Masonic Centre, 24 Warrandyte Rd Ringwood VIC 3134, on Saturday 27th August 2011 commencing at 6:30 pm.

The purpose of the evening is for Lodges to give a 10 minute presentation to members of the Board of Benevolence in regards to a Charity they support. The presentation is to be made by a member of the Lodge without the use of media devices. (Overhead Projectors, Data Projectors etc)

The Board of Benevolence members present will, for the purposes of allocating monies to be offered, be asked to adjudicate on each of the presentations made. To enable them to do this fairly and with due consideration, it would be appreciated if you would include the following information in your presentations:

  1. 1. Give the name of the Charity/Entity you are supporting.

  2. Describe in reasonable detail what services the Charity/Entity offers.

  3. Indicate whether and to what extent they are funded by Government, or other public body or by wider community donations.

  4. Indicate for how long the Lodge has supported the Charity/Entity and what led the Lodge to decide to give that support.

  5. Show what contributions, by way of money, labour or other means, have been or will be made by the Lodge.

  6. Any other supporting information.

  7. Preference will be given to local charities within the District or Lodge localities ahead of state-wide or national organisations.

Your presentation should be of no more than 10 minutes , and your proposal should fit within Rule 80 of the Book of Constitutions.

Between presentations, a three course meal will be served along with Wine, Beer, Soft Drinks, Tea and Coffee. All is inclusive in the price. (Gluten free, vegetarian meals etc can be supplied on request).

Ticket price is $45.00 per person which also includes entry to a number of Lucky Door Prizes.
There will be seating for 10 people at each table so please start putting together your presentation and to book your table or tables. Numbers are limited so please book early. Cut - off date for bookings is 05/08/2011 and when booking, please send your money for each table as well as the name of your nominated charity.
